Motherboard VRM Check

Which platform is most likely to leave you with a board that cannot feed your CPU?

Throttle risk by socket

Of 2,682 socket-compatible pairings in this database, LGA1700 has the highest share of severe verdicts at 3 %, which reflects how wide the gap is between the cheapest and the best boards on that platform rather than any weakness in the socket itself.

Method

Every socket-compatible pairing in the catalogue, grouped by socket. Severe means the model expects measurable clock loss under sustained all-core load; moderate means a few percent; clean means none. Wrong-socket pairings are excluded.

Sample size: 2,682 evaluations across 120 processors and 80 motherboards. Model constants are published on the methodology page.
